Just about a year ago we reported that the television and film rights to Jeffrey Archer's novels had been acquired, and that at the time, the art theft caper False Impression was the likely first book to be adapted.
Now we're learning that it will be A Matter of Honor that will be developed first, followed by Honor Among Thieves. Though the two books do not share a common character, one will be written into the scripts, with the intent to create a potential franchise for Archer's books. Frank Marshall (The "Bourne" films, the "Indiana Jones" films, and more) will produce.
"Jeffrey Archer is a master storyteller whose suspenseful plots and compelling characters have the potential for a multi-feature film franchise with both domestic and international appeal," Marshall said.
