More information about the book

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Alfonso Ulloa has been signed to direct the film adaptation of the 1953 pulp noir classic Black Wings Has My Angel by Elliott Chaze. Ulloa will also rewrite the screenplay, that was originally adapted by Barry Gifford.

Elijah Wood originally acquired the project in 2007 as his first production effort, and is still on board to produce.

About Black Wings Has My Angel (from the publisher): "She had the face of a madonna and a heart made of dollar bills." A legend among noir buffs and the one book Black Lizard never published, it's the dream-like tale of a man after a jailbreak, who meets up with the woman of his dreams ... and his nightmares.
