Second Season of Durham County Premieres this Sunday on Ion

Durham County (Ion Television)

If you missed the airing of the first season of Durham County last September on Ion Television, the network is re-airing all six episodes tomorrow, Saturday January 2nd, 2010 (5 PM ET). The US premiere of the second season begins Sunday, January 3rd (9 PM ET). Subsequent episodes will air on Sundays at 10 PM ET.

Durham County is a moody, even grim, crime drama series that originally aired in Canada in 2007. Two seasons of six episodes each were produced, with a third season that began production last October. The series won 5 Gemini Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy Awards) in 2008.

About Durham County: After his partner is murdered, Detective Mike Sweeney (played by Hugh Dillon) moves his family back to the small town where he grew up. But beneath the rural calm of Durham County lurk secrets so dark that even those who carry them can no longer see the light of truth, and Sweeney is no exception.

Before long, Mike must come face to face with his past when he discovers that Ray Prager (Justin Louis), a friend from his teenage years, is his new neighbor. A deadly rivalry plays out in a psychological game of murder and revenge, drawing the members of both families ever deeper into a deadly web of desire and violence.
