The Associated Press is reporting that bestselling author Robert B. Parker died yesterday at his home in Cambridge (MA). He was 77.
Parker is probably best known for his Spenser series of mysteries, the first of which, The Godwulf Manuscript, he published in 1974. The 4th in the series, Promised Land, won an Edgar for Best Novel, and in 2002, he received the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America.
He also wrote several other series, including the popular Jesse Stone mysteries, several of which have been adapted as made-for-television movies starring Tom Selleck in the title role.
