Winners of the 2015 Arthur Ellis Awards Announced

Mystery, Suspense and Thriller Book Awards

The winners of the 2015 Arthur Ellis Awards were announced last night by the Crime Writers of Canada recognizing excellence in Canadian crime writing. The award is named after the nom de travail of Canada's official hangman.

And the winners are …

• Best Crime Novel: Plague by C. C. Humphreys (Doubleday)

• Best First Crime Novel: Siege of Bitterns by Steve Burrows (Dundurn)

• Best Crime Novel in French: Bondrée by Andrée Michaud (Editions Québec Amérique)

• Best Crime Non-Fiction: The Massey Murder by Charlotte Gray (HarperCollins)

• Best Juvenile/Young Adult Crime Book: Dead Man's Switch by Sigmund Brouwer (Harvest House)

• Best Crime Short Story: "Stone Mattress" by Margaret Atwood (McClelland & Stewart)

• Best Unpublished First Novel, the "Unhanged Arthur": Strange Things Done by Elle Wild

• Best Novella: A Knock on the Door by Jas. R. Petrin (Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine)
