Set (for the most part) in the final days of a campaign for the election of a New York City mayor, this pseudo-political thriller disappoints in part because of a weak script, which takes far too many shortcuts. But it's the odd casting of a nearly incomprehensible Russell Crowe struggling with an American accent as the incumbent mayor that is most distracting here.
