Telemystery: NBC Developing Comedy Based on 1980s Series Remington Steele

Telemystery: Mystery and Suspense on Television

NBC is developing a half-hour comedy based on the 1980s crime drama/comedy Remington Steele.

Also titled Remington Steele, the storyline (via Deadline) will follow Olivia Holt, the daughter of the titular character and Laura Holt, the brains behind the brawn, as she reopens the detective agency owned by her mother (and fronted by her father). Jay Scherick and David Ronn are writing the pilot script.

The original series, a one-hour drama, followed Laura Holt (played by Stephanie Zimbalist), a licensed private investigator, who takes on a handsome con man (Pierce Brosnan) as the face of her agency. The series ran for five seasons on NBC from October 1982 through March 1987.
