New Release Amazon Instant Video Rentals at a Special Price, This Weekend Only

Amazon Instant Video

We noticed when our weekly update of bestselling Amazon Instant videos to watch online and/or download was posted earlier today that there were a number of new release 99 cent titles listed. Sensing a mystery, we went about investigating!

There wasn't much of a case to solve.

It turns out that Amazon is simply offering 14 recently released films to watch this weekend for only 99 cents each (for a 24-hour rental viewing period). It's possible this promotion is in conjunction with its announcement that Amazon Instant Video is now available on the Apple iPad. (It's long been available on many other devices, including the Kindle Fire, where we've watched many a movie and television series.)

The list of films that are part of this weekend promotion include several crime-related titles such as The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Lockout, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, 21 Jump Street, and Safe House.

Use this link to see the list of films, and you must order your title now through Sunday, August 5th, 2012 in order to get the special 99 cent 24-hour rental viewing price.
