Telemystery: How Are Your Favorite Prime Time Crime Series Faring This Season?

Telemystery: Mystery and Suspense on Television

Now that we've reached half-way point (or so) of the 2011/2012 television season, it's time to take a minute and look at what's working and what isn't. TV|Line has a list of all prime time television shows on the four networks, with their best guess as to whether they'll be renewed or not for next season. We've taken that list, extracted the really important series — i.e. Prime Time Crime shows — and condensed the 8 levels of their "reliable renewal index" to just four.

Sure or highly likely to be renewed:

Blue Bloods (CBS)
Bones (Fox)
Castle (ABC)
Criminal Minds (CBS)
CSI (CBS)
Grimm (NBC)
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS)
Law & Order: SVU (NBC)
The Mentalist (CBS)
NCIS (CBS)
NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS)
Once Upon a Time (ABC)
Revenge (ABC)
Unforgettable (CBS)

Could go either way:

Body of Proof (ABC)
CSI: Miami (CBS)
CSI: NY (CBS)
Harry’s Law (NBC)
Person of Interest (CBS)
Terra Nova (Fox)

Unlikely to be renewed or already canceled:

Charlie’s Angels (ABC)
Fringe (Fox)
Prime Suspect (NBC)

Three series have yet to premiere, so their fate remains to be determined:

Alcatraz (Fox; premieres January 16th)
The Finder (Fox; premieres January 12th)
The Firm (NBC; premieres January 8th)

Any surprises?

We'll be hearing more about renewals and cancelations in the months to come. May is typically the month when the networks make their fall schedules known.

  1. Some of my faves are on the likely to be renewed list. I also like Body Of Proof, Person Of Interest and Terra Nova. Some of these shows are in tough time spots.
