Oline H. Cogdill of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that mystery writer Barbara Parker has died. She was 62.
The author of 12 novels, Parker is best known for her series featuring Miami attorneys Gail Connor and Anthony Quintana. Parker was also a lawyer, first working as a prosecutor in the Florida state attorney's office, then as a sole practitioner.
Cogdill writes that Parker often gave writing workshops for libraries and mystery conferences. She also had begun her fourth year on the national board of the Mystery Writers of America and was the chair of its membership committee for two years.
